  The Solution

Men’s facility will accommodate 100 beds

In response to these needs, the Board of Directors has made plans to relocate. We've kicked off "Hearts of Hope" - a $5.3 million project funded in great part by a $4.9 million 3-year capital campaign. This includes a $250,000 capital endowment to provide for ongoing maintenance, ensuring we remain good stewards of your investment.

The Mission will relocate from Main Street in downtown Elkhart to the corner of Benham Avenue and Martin Luther King Jr. Drive where there are 6 ½ acres of land, which now houses the RV Hall of Fame. We will renovate the existing building and build new facilities, adding 75 new beds to our current capacity. We will also be able to shelter 12 families on any given night.

The New Facilities Will:

  • Double the number of families and women we can serve
  • Increase our services to men by one-third
  • Provide a safer campus through increased security features and separate housing for families and individuals
  • Establish an efficient, well-designed environment that encourages the move toward independence
  • Provide a kitchen and dining room that can serve 400 people
  • Provide an on-site detox facility managed by Life Treatment Centers
  • Offer other necessities such as a chapel, classrooms, laundry and medical services, as well as a safe children's playground
